RIC Public Safety has introduced a new reporting mechanism for employee safety concerns and suggestions.  We are rolling this project out with a simple form that takes just a few minutes for an employee to complete.  RIC promotes safety related reporting with a “no blame” philosophy and a culture of fairness. All safety reports will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality unless criminal offenses are involved. We aim to find the root cause of hazards, accidents, incidents, and close calls with the goal of implementing measures to prevent future occurrences. RIC’s Living the Values program has SAFETY as a core element and the information provided from these reports serves to help keep the RIC community safe.  The reports that are received will be reviewed by CRAC Public Safety staff and in some instances be disseminated to others who may have a stake in correcting the hazard or event that was identified.  This report is not intended to take the place of the current work order system that is in place.  Repairs should still be submitted using the Rock Solid – REPORT RIC platform.  Additionally reports should not be vindictive in nature or target individuals, groups or other companies. Reports involving accidents, damage, or injuries must first be reported to Airport Communications for the appropriate fire or police response.
